Our mission is to empower individuals through practical skills, intensive case management, and a wide range of supportive programs designed to foster safety, independence, and well-being. Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Family Justice Center Intake Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking assistance, providing empathetic support and guiding them through our services. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment where survivors feel safe, heard, and empowered to take the next steps toward healing. Duties This job description is a broad outline of the responsibilities and duties of the Family Justice Center Intake Specialistand will be amended, as needed, to meet the program priorities of Women Aware, Inc., ('the "Agency") and its ensuing work requirements. It should not be construed as a contract and does not create a contract of employment. Employment with the Agency is at will.

Non-Exempt Qualifications:
  • Full Time, M-F, evenings as needed
  • BA/BS in the social services field
  • Domestic Violence experience, preferred
  • Bilingual-Spanish required
  • Excellent crisis intervention, case management, and organization skills required
  • Drivers license: clean and valid
  • Lifting up to 25lbs
General Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Coordinator of Residential Services, this position carries the responsibility for providing crisis intervention and case management services to victims of domestic violence seeking services at the FJC. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and mission-centered environment.
  • Work collaboratively with Agency staff and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.
  • Provides crisis intervention, case management, and linkage to services in accordance with accepted standards of care, ethics of the profession and the Agency's confidentiality policy.
Specific Duties:
  • Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered, approach using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. First point of contact for survivors engaging in services.
  • Responsible for ensuring direct services are provided to Family Justice Center clients: orient victims and families to the Center, conduct comprehensive initial intake, needs assessment for linkage to services, client advocacy, crisis intervention, resources, safety plan, and referrals.
  • Schedule intake and follow-up appointments as needed. Ensure survivors are receiving the services requested.
  • Responsible to manage crisis helpline, collecting required documentation, and ensure service delivery. Maintain electronic case records for individual clients according to Agency documentation policy/procedure, and maintain other records as needed.
  • Assist with submitting reports such as monthly program reports, FVPSA, and DV core stats to the Director of the Family Justice Center.

Pay:
$51,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
