Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Social Worker supporting a vibrant educational community near Lakewood, NM. This contract position allows you to apply your specialized expertise in school social work to foster positive student outcomes and a supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active licensure as a Social Worker, with credentials recognized by your state of practice Prior experience providing social work services within school settings strongly preferred Strong knowledge of child development, crisis intervention, and educational systems Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and community resources Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to student advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive social-emotional assessments for referred students Develop and implement individualized interventions addressing academic and behavioral challenges Lead one-on-one and group counseling sessions focused on various student needs Work closely with teachers and special education teams to design effective support strategies Engage with parents/guardians to promote student well-being and connect them to valuable community resources Participate in IEP/504 meetings and contribute expert insight for student planning Address crisis situations promptly, providing short-term counseling and referrals as appropriate Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with school/state requirements
