Job Description
Esperanza Shelter is seeking a compassionate Hope Advocate to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management services for adult survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In this role, you'll support clients across our shelter and housing programs, coordinate access to critical resources, and serve as a key point of contact for crisis line and hospital response needs. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, relationship-driven professional who brings both heart and expertise to serving survivors with dignity. At Esperanza Shelter, HOPE drives everything we do. For over 40 years, we've provided the Santa Fe community with secure shelter, counseling, advocacy, and comprehensive services for those affected by domestic violence. Through prevention education, therapy, life skills training, and group support, we create an environment where survivors can rebuild their lives with dignity and compassion. Part-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Hope Advocate LeadPOSITION SUMMARY
The Hope Advocate is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of adult domestic violence survivors by providing crisis intervention, developing individualized safety plans, and coordinating access to resources.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides support and case management to clients for domestic violence or sexual assault. Provides hospital and crisis response/advocacy as needed. Collaborates with community partners on behalf of clients. Provides staffing on crisis lines as needed. Maintains client documentation daily. Completes all necessary paperwork and collects data and grant information as required. Provides quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports of activities and services provided to VP of Client Services and Grant Manager. Participates in staff meetings, in-service training, volunteer training and regular supervision with VP of Client Services. Conducts safety and needs assessments and assists with and monitors client goals. Performs other duties as assigned. Coordinates and facilitates access to housing, healthcare, financial assistance, legal assistance, and education.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Social or Human Services, Marketing or other directly related discipline. One (1) year of direct experience with Domestic Violence programs/services. Proven experience and success in building and maintaining relationships with diverse individuals and groups.REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop community partnerships and professional relationships. Creativity in presentations using a variety of techniques and methods to connect with a wide range of audiences. Proficient in Microsoft programs, social media platforms and use of office equipment. A motivated self-starter that requires little to no supervision. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledge and understanding of how domestic violence impacts communities and populations.PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
