MISSION STATEMENT
Foster Kinship strengthens kinship caregivers' capacity to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or Equivalent Nevada Drivers License Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation. Must not have any qualifying offense that violates the standards required by NRS 43B.198 and/or
NRS 432B.199. WORKING CONDITIONS
Work shifts will include day and swing shifts (including Saturdays).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and monitor the safety of children during childcare programs including respite, youth support, child welfare training course; Follow the childcare curriculum designed for children in kinship foster care; Keep the childcare program schedule; Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children; Help children keep good hygiene; Organize activities so that children can learn about the world and explore interests; Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime; Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring the problems to the attention of the Child & Youth Interventions Program Director; Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interest; Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills using trauma
  • informed approaches; Collaborating, communicating and assisting with the training of clients, parents and staff; Providing direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group setting; Maintain structure and order.
Daily Childcare (all CC responsibilities listed in CYIA job description)
Data Entry:
Respites, Nurture Groups, Support Groups, & All Childcare provided or class attendance Check Child & Youth Intervention email and respond to spanish caregivers CG Remind texts of schedule events, such as Respites, Support Groups, and other CYI events Other Scheduling respite and other cc events Planning and creating curriculum: Nurture Group Translate for spanish speaking cg when needed Marcie's Heart Donation Center Responsibilities Sort and process donations and identify usable items, maintaining the high standard Foster Kinship can provide through basic needs requests or caregiver markets. Organize and store donated items for distribution. Stock and maintain Caregiver Corner Market. Maintain neatness, cleanliness, and organization (including trash removal) of the donation receiving area.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment Stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for an extended period of time Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of settings
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with children ages 0-17; Experience with children with additional needs; Professional and positive appearance and attitude; Up to date CPR training and TB test; Compliance with Nevada Registry training requirements, including initial and annual training () Must be able to pass a background check with Clark County; Demonstrated experience working with children of all ages and abilities; Creative, fun and energetic; Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds; Well organized; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends; High school Diploma/GED;
IDEAL CANDIDATES
Lived experience with kinship or foster care preferred; AA or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.; Registered with the Nevada Registry preferred. Experience as a RBT or
