Job Description

Come join our caring team of professionals in a supportive, fun, play-based classroom environment. Capital District Beginnings is an educational Agency providing services for pre-school children with special needs in the Capital District. Named a Best Workplace of the Capital Region by the Times Union since 2021 and celebrating 40 years of supporting children with disabilities in their natural learning environment. Beginnings is currently seeking a full time (37.50 hours per week) Licensed Social Worker to join our growing community of professionals in the Capital Region. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide individual and small group counseling (within or outside the classroom setting) Develop and implement goals on Individual Education Plan (IEP) Work on improving cooperative play and coping skills Complete required paperwork on a contemoraneous schedule per Medicaid and SED guidelines. Administer appropriate assessment to determine baseline function, collect data, and monitor student progress. Help to support a child in crisis using trauma-informed practices Support classroom behavioral strategies during sessions Parent support , i.e. meet with parents/caregivers on the phone, at home or at school to discuss early childhood development, behavioral management strategies and brainstorm together on ways to support health and well-being. Requirements:
NYS Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree ( preferred ) This position is eligible for benefits, paid time off, retirement and follows our school calendar. The interview process will begin immediately. Please submit your resume in response to the attached ad.
