The Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences is home to faculty and staff members dedicated to preparing students in a variety of social science related fields. We are seeking a Social Work Lecturer and Practicum Coordinator position with teaching and service requirements in an interdisciplinary department that offers undergraduate degrees in Social Work and Criminal Justice. In addition to the major programs, the department also provides minors in the areas of Criminal Justice, Public Health and Sociology. The Fredonia Bachelor of Science in Social Work program's mission is to enact the mission of the university and its home department. KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Reporting to the Departmental Chair, the successful candidate will: Teach a 4/4 instructional load in the Social Work program; Coordinate and continuously develop all aspects of the social work program's field education program; In collaboration with the Social Work Program Director and Social Work faculty, contribute to and enrich the Social Work program's explicit and implicit curriculums; Provide quality academic advising to students; Participate in committees and provide service to the program, department, college, university, and profession; Be aware of, understand, and follow all program, departmental, and university policies.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MSW
degree from a CSWE-accredited institution; At least 2 years of post-MSW practice experience; Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary context, and in a collegial and professional manner, with students, faculty, and staff; Ability to work with diverse student, faculty, staff, and community populations in a culturally humble and responsive manner; Demonstrated capacity to multitask and meet goals and deadlines; Demonstrated commitment to the program, department, university, and social work profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three or more years of post-MSW practice experience; Teaching experience in an undergraduate CSWE accredited program; One or more year's experience in field practicum education (e.g., as a field instructor, faculty field liaison) with a CSWE accredited program; Illustrated capacity to engage and mentor students in development of their social work professional identity; Experience with instructional technology; Demonstrated familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards; Current NYS licensure at the LMSW or LCSW level; Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement; Knowledge of and/or work experience within the Chautauqua County human service system.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, one year, temporary position beginning August 2026, with a salary of $54,000. Visa sponsorship is not available. Fredonia prides itself on an outstanding workforce.
