Job Description

SCO Family of Services is seeking an experienced supervisor with a background in foster care or related services to lead a case planning team of case planners, parent advocates, and case aides supporting children and families in the foster care system. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, supervision and support to Case planners, Parent advocates, and Case aides. Monitor casework to ensure compliance with ACS/OCFS and agency policies Review and approve documentation (FASPs, court reports, progress notes) for accuracy and timeliness. Facilitate case planning and interdisciplinary team meetings. Support staff in assessing safety, managing risk, and achieving permanency goals. Ensure families are actively engaged in service planning and reunification efforts. Oversee service referrals, treatment planning, and crisis interventions. Attend and testify in court hearings and collaborate with legal and community partners. Supervise and support family visitation when needed. Provide on-call support for emergencies (including evenings/weekends). Respond to hotline and emergency situations, including evenings and weekends. Fulfills duty of Mandated Reporter, which entails reporting any suspected instances of child abuse or maltreatment. Lead staff development, evaluations, and hiring processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree required, MSW degree preferred and a minimum of two (2) years in child welfare. Approved background clearances and fingerprinting are required. Excellent oral and written communication. Strong knowledge of ACS, OCFS and Foster Care regulations. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and Connections. Bilingual skills strongly preferred.
