Before School Counselor - North Salem, NY The YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable Before School Counselor to join our team in North Salem! If you enjoy working with children and are looking for a rewarding part-time morning position , this could be a great fit. Help our students start their school day in a safe, positive, and fun environment!
What You'll Do:
Engage with elementary-age children through activities, games, and conversation Help create a welcoming and positive start to their day Maintain active supervision and ensure the health and safety of all children Work alongside YMCA program leadership and fellow staff Serve as a positive and respectful role model Why Work With the Y? Morning hours — keep the rest of your day free! Great experience for students pursuing education, social work, psychology, recreation, or related fields Professional development and training Hands-on experience working with children Supportive team environment Make a difference in your local community
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old High school diploma or equivalent (if applicable based on age) Experience working with children under age 13 preferred Dependable, energetic, and comfortable working as part of a team Strong communication skills
