Work in this class involves providing intensive social work services in serious and complicated cases which require the flexible use of a wide range of social work skills and intervention techniques.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include:
Responsible for providing case management services for children, ages 0-21, who are removed from their parents/caretakers and ensure all childrens needs are met. Provide services to parents, including any needed community referrals, conducting home visits, transporting parents for random drug screens and other appointments. Transports children to school and medical/mental health appointments. Schedules and supervises visits between children and their parents, arranging and supervising sibling visitation. Work closely with the court system and must attend all court reviews pertaining to the children within case load; responsible for preparing court reports for the judge to review and make recommendations concerning permanency. The responsibilities and duties outlined above are intended to provide a general outline and summary of this role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed, with or without notice, to meet the needs of the department and county.Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a human services field; or Bachelor's degree in any field plus one (1) year of human services work. 2 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for 1 year of required education. •Must have Pre-Service completed prior to hire• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities This position requires a person who is self-motivated, well-organized, flexible, able to multi-task, and have effective communication skills, both verbal/written. Thorough knowledge of social, economic and health problems. Thorough knowledge of social institutions and the methods of the helping process Thorough knowledge of individual and groups behavior Ability to identify social problems and needs to assess the ability of individuals and families to utilize services in problem solving Ability to plan and organize work and to understand and interpret laws, policies and regulations Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, other professional and technical staff, social agencies and the general public Ability to prepare reports and maintain records. This role must work from the location identified at the time of hire with work travel required as needed. Any change of work location, even on a short-term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the Supervisor and HR for approval.Additional information:
