Job Description
Overview The Crew School Support Coordinator will integrate themselves into the weekly rhythm of Crew School and offer support to students in attendance and staff of the Education Department. Crew School is an academic support system for players within the Columbus Crew Academy. It occurs each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00AM-3:30PM. Students range from 8th-12th grade and are enrolled on online schooling platforms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Build positive relationships with students Monitor student progress Assist students in completion of assignments, projects, test preparation Individualize and deliver instruction for grade levels 8-12 Help students grow their executive functioning skills Learn differing online platforms to best help students stay organized & on task Contribute to building an atmosphere that consistently represents the Columbus Crew values of passion, accountability, high work ethic, and growth mindset Desired Experience Preferred Ohio teaching license or degree in education Prior experience working with kids in an educational or leadership capacity Ability to monitor student progress and intervene when students fall behind Strong organizational skills with experience tracking performance data, attendance, or academic progress Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and staff Experience building positive relationships with adolescents and motivating reluctant learners Experience using spreadsheets or data tracking tools to monitor student performance Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of an instructional team Position Opportunities Support the academic and personal growth of Crew Academy students Engage in the daily rhythm of the Crew Academy Contribute to a positive environment that offers students proper social and academic engagement during their journey through the Columbus Crew Academy Be a valued member of a small department where your voice and perspective can impact the growth of the quickly expanding Crew School Program
