POSITION SUMMARY
The MessiahKids Lead provides strategic vision, leadership, and organizational oversight for children s (0 - 5 th) programming at Church of the Messiah and within the community. A full-time salaried, exempt position.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic vision and leadership for children's programming at Messiah and within the community. Support and oversee the work and ministries of the Family Ministries Assistant and the Nursery Coordinator. Plan and lead kid-focused events and activities (e.g., Tuesday Nights at Messiah, Vacation Bible School, Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt, Back to School Sunday, Chrismons, Bible Sunday, etc.) Plan and lead quarterly intergenerational all-church events (e.g., Winter Bash, Summer Splash, Back to School Carnival, Fall Fest) Recruit, train, support, schedule, communicate with, and retain current and future volunteers across kid's ministries. Oversee Sunday School (Check-in, curriculum, classroom rosters, classroom set up, and classroom restocking, etc.) Support Messiah s partnership with Ourday Preschool (Ourday Board representative, Ourday Chapel, and regular communication with Ourday Director and Staff, etc.). Primary connection between church and new and returning families, building positive, supportive, informative relationships. Fosters the building of intergenerational relationships between youth and children. Provide pastoral care, resources, and relational support to volunteers, families, and kids, in coordination with pastoral staff. Maintain and coordinate the MessiahKids events calendar, room use, contact lists, photos, and communication requests, in coordination with other staff. Promote and communicate MessiahKids Ministries events to families, congregation, and community (Newsletters, emails, calendars, social media, etc.) and conduct post-event follow up. Communicate and coordinate with other members of the church staff. In coordination with the Lead Pastor, create and oversee the MessiahKids ministry budget. Ensure the safety of kids by implementing and constantly monitoring practices which adhere to the Safe Sanctuary Maintains system of written reports, evaluations, and controls on programs for families. Maintain First Aid, CPR, child abuse recognition and communicable diseases management certifications. Attend workshops and seminars related to kids ministries and pursue other education when necessary.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Three to five years related experience, evidencing ability to fill this position effectively Valid driver s license Subject to background check
TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
Systems thinker and planner Understanding of and experience in children s and family ministries Ability to lead in program design and implementation for children s, youth, and family ministries Ability to lead in discipleship for children s and family ministries Ability to integrate and relate student ministry to the rest of the church s ministries Ability to understand and relate to children and youth Capable of communicating in both group and individual settings Ability to work efficiently and effectively in team situations and to work independently Ability to relate and work well with pastoral staff and lay leadership Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to participate in activities that require a certain level of physical fitness
