The ideal candidate would reside in either the Portland or Seattle area. This position includes being on-call approximately one weekend each month, including possible travel in Oregon or Washington. Open AdoptionFamily Services, a program of BoysGirls Aid , is seeking a full - time (32hrs) Counselor to join our team. The Open AdoptionFamily Services program provides unbiased, all-options pregnancy counseling, and when the choice is adoption, we provide ethically-minded adoption services with a focus on openness. We also prepare prospective adoptive families for the complexities of parenting through adoption. We value our employees through open communication, transparency, and honesty. What You'll Do Provide unbiased all-options pregnancy counseling and resource referrals to expectant parents Educate and guide prospective adoptive families through the steps of the adoption process, including training, home study interviews, and report writing, adoption planning, placement, and navigating open adoption relationships. Coordinate adoption plans, including working closely with clients and hospital staff, attorneys, and other community partners. Conduct outreach presentations and trainings that promote OA&FS services and the concept of open adoption to diverse populations, including prospective adoptive parents, service providers, and organizations. What We're Looking For Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus two years of relevant experience in social work, child development, counseling or psychology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lived experience with infant adoption may substitute part or all of two-year work experience requirement. Master's Degree from an accredited program of social work, counseling, or closely related field is preferred. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Ready to Join Our Team?
