FUNCTIONS
a. Triage incoming BHIP referrals and self-assign MHTC for up to 1000 Veterans per BHIP team. Conducts the duties of this role, including a 25%/75% bookable/indirect split for dediced asynchronous care time for: proactive pient monitoring and proactive populion coverage utilizing the BHIP Care Coordinion (CC) Dashboard, assisting with transitions of care from varying levels of care (inpient, residential, emergency department, specialty clinic, PCMHI, etc.), high risk care coordinion, reminder follow-ups, adjusting plans of care, and non-bookable pient contact (telephone calls, on-demand VVC s, etc.). Effectively communices with and utilizes community agencies to facilite trement, discharge planning, and continuity of care. b. Engage in informion ghering, problem identificion, DSM-5 diagnostic assessment, biopsychosocial assessment, and using measurement based care. Fully utilizes the current DSM-5 in making diagnoses and formulion of trement goals and applicion of approprie clinical intervention using professional counseling practices. Triages Veterans amongst BHIP team members for ongoing care (psychiric medicion management, psychotherapy, etc.). c. Provide individual and group counseling, wellness/prevention educion, and facilite pient/family support groups as approprie. Utilizes a wide variety of evidence-based, time-limited interventions. Trement approaches include but are not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy. d. Participe in the trement planning process with other disciplines. Makes professional evaluions, decisions, and recommendions for trement planning and implemention. Establishes goals/trement through a collaborive process with the pient utilizing advanced counseling skills, including evidenced-based practices. e. Provide case management to Veterans and families, as needed, throughout the continuum of care. Provides complex crisis intervention and stabilizion to pients who are in psychological distress. Academic/Teaching/Training (up to 15% of time, depending on supervision role and involvement as requested by the Training Director; to be negotied between chief of discipline, supervisor, and Training Director) Provides primary clinical supervision for unlicensed staff and/or students, which may include back-up clinical supervision in other rotions, as directed by Training Director. May provide group supervision to an Intern cohort, on an as-needed basis, as determined by the Training Director. Provides up-to-de, educion for trainees, other clinicians, and facility staff, to ensure informion is presented based on empirical science and is culturally and ethically driven. This includes Internship training, but also may include in-service and/or invited grand round presentions to the medical center staff in areas directly reled to the mission of the Mental Health Service Line.

Pay:
Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step re of the approprie grade may be determined after considerion of higher or unique qualificions or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Re of the Grade).
Paid Time Off:

Grade Determinions :
In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candides. Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, GS-12 (a) Experience, Educion, and Licensure. In addition to the basic requirements, candides must have least one year of progressively complex LPMHC experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior LPMHCs must have five years of post-licensed experience th demonstres possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstring progressive professional competency and expertise and be licensed to provide clinical supervision to trainees or unlicensed LPMHCs. Demonstred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities . In addition to meeting the KSAs for the GS-11 grade level, the candide must demonstre all of the KSAs below: 1. Advanced knowledge of and mastery of theories and modalities used in the specialized trement of complex mental illness. Ability to incorpore complex multiple causion in differential diagnosis and trement of veteran pients, including making psychosocial and psychiric diagnoses within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice. Ability to determine priority of services needed and provide specialized trement. 2. Advanced and expert skill in a range of specialized interventions and trement modalities for Veterans with complex needs. This includes individual, group, and/or family counseling, or psychotherapy and advanced level psychosocial, and/or case management interventions used in the trement of Veterans. 3. Ability to coordine the delivery of specialized psychosocial services and programs. Ability to design system changes based on da. 4. Ability to provide subject mter consultion to colleagues and trainees on the psychosocial trement of pients, rendering professional opinions based on experience, expertise and role modeling effective clinical skills. 5. Ability to teach, mentor staff and trainees, and provide supervision for licensure or for specialty certificions. 6. Ability to engage in written and oral communicion with leadership/staff and community stakeholders regarding policies, procedures, practice guidelines, and issues pertaining to the practice of the profession.
