Pupil Personnel Services Description:
The School Social Worker will work to enhance students' educational progress. This person will provide counseling, instruction, consultation, collaboration, assessments and monitoring services for LIU and/or district designated students, their families and the staff who support them. The School Social Worker will help students benefit from their educational program. The services of the School Social Worker are delivered as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
Effective August 1, 2026 , all individuals employed as a School Social Worker must meet one of the following: Hold a valid and active Pennsylvania School Social Worker Educational Specialist Certificate OR Work under an emergency permit and be willing to enroll in a PDE-approved School Social Worker preparation program AND Hold a current LSW or LCSW license. To obtain certification after August 1, 2026: candidates must successfully complete an approved School Social Worker preparation program through a college or university and apply for certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
Terms:
Full-time, 190 days/year
Salary Schedule:
