This position calls for a passionate and experienced school social worker ready to lead, guide, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students. You will play a pivotal role in both direct student support and broader program coordination.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in a school or educational environment Master's degree in Social Work required Valid LSW or LCSW license Strong background in supporting special education needs Excellent organizational and leadership skills Effective communicator with ability to collaborate across various teams and external agencies
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the Student Support Team, including counselors, reviewing caseloads, goals, and documentation regularly Ensure alignment with special education counseling mandates and support the planning of 1:1 and small group sessions Lead regular meetings with Special Education and Culture & Climate teams to guide Tier III interventions Act as liaison for McKinney Vento Homeless support and coordinate with external support agencies (e.g., IBHS, CGRC, CCTC) Provide individual and group counseling, developing intervention strategies to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges Partner with teachers, administrators, and parents to design comprehensive student support plans Assess students to determine their needs and ensure access to appropriate services Offer crisis intervention when urgent mental health or safety concerns arise Lead workshops or training sessions for students, staff, and families addressing well-being, bullying, substance abuse, and related issues Maintain accurate, confidential records of all student interactions and progress Bring your expertise and dedication to a role that truly changes lives within the school community.
