Job Description
Under the guidance of the Community Enrichment Coordinator, the Extended Day staff implements a dynamic after-school and child-care opportunity for students in grades Pre-K through 5th Grade, informed by the central themes of SCFS' academic and social-emotional curricula, collegial collaboration, Quaker pedagogy, and SCFS's mission. Faculty and staff at SCFS thoughtfully engage people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences and foster an environment of trust, collaboration, and professionalism at school. A strong alignment with Quaker testimonies and progressive education -- in philosophy and practice -- is expected. Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Extended Day staff include but are not limited to: engaging students of all ages in activities and stewardship of outdoor and indoor spaces throughout the duration of after-school and childcare programming; setting up and cleaning up materials for after-school and child care activities; setting up and cleaning up an afternoon snack; managing student behavior to uphold the student-generated Community Agreements; continuously supervising student safety throughout the duration of the program; following SCFS protocols and procedures, including but not limited to clocking in and out using the FACTS system, responding to email correspondence in a timely manner, and filing accident and Injury reports; maintaining a friendly and respectful demeanor in interactions with students, families, and colleagues; attending monthly staff meetings The ideal staff members are joyful about working with a Quaker school community and demonstrate a passion for child and youth development, in addition to: must be able to work weekdays 3:00-5:30 until May 28, 2027. an ability to work both independently and cooperatively; excellent communication with colleagues, families, students; flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving skills; dedication to fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
