Job Description

We are seeking a Social Worker to join a community services agency supporting individuals and families in need. We are looking for a compassionate Social Worker to assess client needs, provide counseling, and connect individuals and families with appropriate community resources and support services. This position plays an important role in our day-to-day operations, and we are looking for someone who combines technical skill with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and genuine care for the quality of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify client needs, risks, and available support systems.
  • Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during difficult or traumatic situations.
  • Connect clients with community resources, including housing, healthcare, and financial assistance programs.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential case records in compliance with agency and legal requirements.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with other agencies, courts, or service providers.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust service plans as circumstances change.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers and educators.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and professional development to maintain best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or related field; licensure as required by state.
  • Strong understanding of social services systems and community resources.
  • Excellent empathy, active listening, and crisis management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple complex cases.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support.
Work Environment:
You will manage a caseload of clients across various settings, including office visits, home visits, and community locations. The role can be emotionally demanding, requiring resilience, strong boundaries, and access to supervision and peer support to sustain effective, compassionate practice. Successful candidates will be comfortable adapting to a dynamic day-to-day routine, working both independently and as part of a coordinated team, and maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented attitude even when circumstances change unexpectedly.
