Job Description

Contract Adoption Social Worker American Adoptions is the largest domestic adoption agency in the United States is seeking a passionate, committed social worker. American Adoptions is in the process of becoming license as a child placing agency in Iowa. Looking for PRN as needed contract workers throughout the state. Working in Adoption, you can be part of a process that helps create families — something that is both rare and truly magnificent. American Adoptions is seeking contract social workers or counselors able to serve clients in Pueblo and Colorado Springs . You must have either a Bachelor's degree in a Social Work, or a Bachelor's Psychology, human services or related behavioral health with one year of work experience providing services within a child placing agency. Must be certified to complete a SAFE home study. Prior adoption experience is strongly recommended. Contract workers complete work on a PRN basis and are paid by the case with travel expenses reimbursed. This is a contract position only and is an ideal situation for social workers wanting to work from their homes for supplemental income. Must be available to meet with clients days, evenings and weekends as fits clients schedules. This position will provide services to both pregnant women considering adoption and adoptive families completing the home study process.
Responsibilities:
Provides education, guidance and support to birth parents through face to face interactions. Also complete assessments and case management services. Position will meet with birth parents in the community. Completes adoptive family home studies Completes documentation in case notes log Communicates regularly with supervisor, National Office and team of adoption professionals.
