Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and making a positive impact on individuals' lives. As a Mentor, you will provide guidance, support, and encouragement to individuals in need of assistance.
Duties
Utilize behavioral health principles to support and guide individuals Offer crisis intervention, coaching, modeling, training in age-appropriate behaviors, and interpersonal communication Manage conflicts and provide constructive solutions Educate on important life skills, such as decision-making and problem-solving Utilize experience working with children or young adults to provide effective mentorship Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for the mentee Develop relationships with families and gain insight into mentee's needs and strengths Advocate for the best interests of the children in all aspects of their lives, including education, healthcare, and child welfare Develop and implement individualized plans to address the needs of each mentee.
Effectively document interactions in a therapeutic format that address the goals of the ISP
Experience
Previous experience in mentoring, behavioral, or social work related fields is preferred Knowledge of child development principles and practices Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques is a plus Ability to educate and empower individuals to make positive life choices Understanding of special education needs and strategies Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals facing challenges Ability to establish rapport and build trust with adolescents from diverse backgrounds Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role
