Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Sexual Assault Services Advocate, where you will play a vital role in supporting survivors of sexual assault and fostering a safe, compassionate environment for healing and empowerment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing crisis intervention, emotional support, and resource navigation to individuals in need. You will collaborate with community partners, advocate for survivors' rights, and help create awareness around sexual violence prevention. Responsibilities Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault in person, over the phone, or via virtual platforms Assist survivors in understanding their rights and options, including reporting procedures and legal processes such as family law considerations Coordinate with child protective services and other social service agencies to ensure comprehensive care for minors and vulnerable populations Offer guidance on child welfare, behavioral health, and childcare resources tailored to each survivor's unique circumstances Advocate on behalf of survivors during medical examinations, law enforcement interviews, and court proceedings to ensure their needs are prioritized Conduct safety planning and conflict management strategies to empower survivors and reduce further risk Document all interactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal and organizational protocols Provide on call forensic exam accompaniment services Skills Strong knowledge of child protective services, child welfare, and family law procedures Experience working with children and vulnerable populations in crisis situations Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively Familiarity with behavioral health principles relevant to trauma-informed care Background in social work or related fields that support trauma recovery and emotional resilience Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including law enforcement, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and community organizations This role is ideal for compassionate professionals eager to make a lasting impact by supporting survivors through their healing journey.
