Social Worker in Albion, MI Job DescriptionJob Description Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students as a school-based social worker for the upcoming maternity leave term, with an assignment expected to run from January through April-potentially extending to June. This vital role supports students' social-emotional wellbeing, academic engagement, and positive school experiences. The assignment offers up to 40 hours per week at a vibrant, collaborative educational setting near Albion, MI. While onsite availability is preferred, virtual/remote options may be considered for the right candidate.
Key Qualifications:
Active Michigan School Social Worker certification is required Strong foundation in child/adolescent development and evidence-based interventions Experience supporting students in school settings, including individual and group counseling Ability to develop and implement intervention plans that address students' academic, behavioral, and emotional needs Familiarity with case management, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary collaboration Professionalism, compassion, and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct social-emotional assessments and provide counseling to students referred for support Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff to develop strategies that promote student success Lead and participate in interventions for students with IEPs or 504 plans as part of the support team Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to the development of student reports Support a safe, nurturing learning environment throughout the term of the contract This position invites you to play a meaningful part in the school community, whether onsite or through approved virtual solutions.
