A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description

The Social Worker is responsible for providing a wide range of social services in accordance with the hospital mission and objectives. Services provided by Social Service include assisting patients and their families in addressing social, emotional, and economic issues associated with illness or injury. Crisis intervention, discharge planning, continuity of care, financial assistance and referrals to community resources, while interacting with interdisciplinary team are some of the assigned duties. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work required. Equivalent degree will be considered. At least one year social work experience, preferably in health care.
