Kiddie Academy is seeking a dedicated, organized, and passionate Center Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Academy. This leadership role works closely with the Center Director to ensure the highest standards of care, education, safety, and customer service for the children and families we serve. Position Summary The Center Coordinator assists the Center Director in the daily management and operation of the Academy. This position helps ensure compliance with Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) Child Care Licensing Rules, Kiddie Academy standards, and center policies while supporting staff, families, enrollment, curriculum implementation, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who is detail-oriented, administratively strong, customer-focused, and passionate about early childhood education. Essential Responsibilities Licensing Compliance & Safety Support compliance with all TDHS Child Care Licensing Rules and Kiddie Academy standards. Assist with preparation for licensing inspections, monitoring visits, and corrective action plans. Ensure classrooms maintain proper supervision, ratios, group sizes, required postings, and safety standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date child and staff records. Staff Leadership & Support Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching of staff members. Provide daily support and supervision to teaching teams. Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback. Assist with classroom coverage and staff scheduling to maintain licensing compliance. Coordinate staff meetings, training opportunities, and professional development initiatives. Monitor required staff training completion and due dates. Curriculum & Program Quality Support implementation of the Kiddie Academy Life Essentials® and Character Essentials® curricula aligned with Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS). Assist teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practices. Monitor classroom quality and instructional consistency. Ensure child assessments and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Review evidence of learning displays, bulletin boards, classroom presentations, and required postings to ensure compliance and quality standards. Family Engagement Build strong relationships with children and families through positive communication. Assist with parent conferences and follow-up meetings. Address family concerns professionally and communicate concerns promptly to the Director. Support family events and engagement activities. Serve as a resource for both families and staff. Enrollment & Administrative Support Assist with enrollment processes and documentation. Serve as front desk support by answering phones, greeting families, responding to inquiries, and conducting tours. Maintain accurate communication records and notes in KARES. Prepare for new enrollments by ensuring files are complete and classrooms are ready for new children. Monitor Tadpoles throughout the day to ensure reports, communications, and photos are accurate and compliant. Process payments and fingerprint authorized individuals in Procare. Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, supply ordering, and reporting. Create and post appropriate content on social media platforms following established guidelines. Operational Support Assume Director responsibilities when needed. Support daily center operations and transitions. Assist with inventory management and ordering classroom supplies. Input child information, menus, attendance, and meal counts into the KidCare portal. Open and/or close the center following established procedures. Assist with marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications Required:
Meet Tennessee Department of Human Services qualifications for a supervisory role. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in early childhood education. CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods. Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends, as needed to support center operations.
Preferred:
Education in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Familiarity with Procare, Tadpoles, ProSolutions, and other childcare management systems. Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Bilingual abilities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of TDHS licensing regulations and early childhood best practices. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
