JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Family Outreach Liaison (GRANT FUNDED) Exempt Status Non-Exempt No. of Days According to district approved calendar Department Outreach Reports To Family Outreach Coordinator Supervises None Education High School Diploma or GED Experience • Experience in a school setting or communicating with parents and teachers. This position is federal/title funded and there is no guarantee of the position if funds are no longer available.
P OSITION F UNCTION /P URPOSE
The Family Outreach Liaison shall conduct parent and family outreach activities which foster a strong relationship between home and school, and equip caregivers with knowledge and skills to be active participants in their student's education.
E SSENTIAL F UNCTIONS
Conduct parent education seminars on a regular basis. Make contact with parents to help encourage student attendance and parent engagement. If bilingual, serve as a translator for families making contact with campus. Actively promote happenings on campus and encourage participation. Serve as a subject matter expert on key platforms and programs such as Skyward, in order to guide others. 6. Act as a trusted advisor to help families find resolution to questions and concerns.

W ORK E NVIRONMENT
The environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office environment. Hours are flexible Monday - Friday. Availability required for occasional evening and weekend events (approximately once per month). This is a grant funded position with funding for 3 years. There is no guarantee of employment following the funding period, though the employee may be eligible to apply to other positions within Midland ISD.
