Job Overview:
The Teen Center Advocate will provide wrap-around services for the students in need and help facilitate connecting students with community resources, including but not limited to, mental health therapists; Weber Human Services for drug/mental health needs; Weber/Morgan Health Department; UTA; various food pantries throughout Weber County; OWATC; Dental services; vision services; clothing and charitable organizations; Hair care; Youth Futures/Youth Homeless Shelter; Family of Promise; Archway Youth Center; etc.
The Teen Center advocate/aide will supervise and coordinate the following amenities available in the teen center: private showers/bathroom; Hygiene supplies; space for hair/makeup; multiple washers/dryers; food pantry and food prep area; study spaces; lockers for essentials.
The Teen Center Advocate will be trained to connect students with available financial resources, specifically FAFSA. Other duties may be assigned as the need grows. Applicant needs to be flexible on responsibilities. Possibility of tutoring students with class work as needed.
Attendance is an Essential Function of this Position
Physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. The role requires in-person collaboration, direct interaction with team members, other staff, students, and/or guardians, and access to on-site equipment and resources.
Other Functions
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to operate standard office equipment; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Must have knowledge of concepts of grammar and punctuation; and stages of child development.
Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; and working with constant interruptions.
Experience:
Job related experience is desired.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
