Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth and Family Safety Assessor to join our dynamic social services team. In this vital role, you will evaluate the safety and well-being of children and families, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and intervention needed to thrive. Your expertise will help protect vulnerable populations, promote healthy family dynamics, and foster positive outcomes through thorough assessments, effective communication, and culturally competent practices. Duties Conduct comprehensive safety assessments of children and families to determine risk levels and identify needs for intervention or support services Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients, build trust, and encourage positive behavioral change Implement crisis intervention strategies during emergency situations to ensure immediate safety and stabilization Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including child protective services, healthcare providers, legal professionals, and community organizations Document assessment findings accurately and maintain detailed case records in accordance with mandated reporting laws and confidentiality standards Provide culturally competent case management by understanding diverse backgrounds, languages (including bilingual communication), and family dynamics Educate families on childhood development, behavioral health, childcare practices, and available community resources to promote family stability Experience Proven experience working with children, families, or in child welfare or social services settings Strong knowledge of mandated reporting laws, child protective services protocols, and family law procedures Skilled in conflict management, crisis management, and behavioral health interventions Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse populations Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity when working with clients from varied backgrounds Background in social work or related fields such as childhood development or family therapy is preferred Join us in our mission to empower families and safeguard children's futures!
