Full Job Description Summary:
St Mary Parish, De Pere, WI is seeking a Coordinator of High School, Middle School Discipleship Formation. The Coordinator of High School Middle School Discipleship Formation and Sacraments coordinates the formation of students and families from 6th to 11th grade, as well as sacramental preparations required for students 3rd grade and above (OCIC) including Confirmation. This role is also responsible for the recruitment and oversight of catechists and volunteers for formation classes and program administration. The role should support the department in creating a culture that inspires students, families and members to grow in relationship with Jesus and mature in their faith, equipped to make disciples of others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge Must be a practicing Catholic, a member in good standing of a Catholic parish, be living consistent with his/her vocation and possess a strong faith commitment dedicated to the Gospel values and living a life of prayer and service Previous experience with classroom and family-based learning, facilitator training and supervision, developing learning experiences (with proven results), required Certification in spiritual formation, otherwise to be achieved within three (3) years of first employment EDGE/Lifeteen Youth Ministry model training and/or experience Position requires an understanding of missionary discipleship and evangelization processes as they pertain to youth, young adults and adults Must have a valid driver's license Skills Excellent relational, written and oral communication skills - proven public speaking skills Proven teaching and coordination skills Excellent handle of Microsoft Office software, the internet, and all basic office equipment is required as well as an ability to quickly learn new tools Must have strong ability to collaboratively plan, organize, and meet deadlines Abilities Ability to inspire and influence others and ignite a desire to grow as a disciple Ability to focus on people balanced with the ability to complete multiple projects and tasks as required Ability to communicate effectively with staff and parish community as well as establish and maintain effective relationships Ability to listen and receive the ideas of others; present facts and recommendations effectively Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality Must pass diocesan background check and initial/ongoing VIRTUS Safe Environment Training
