Our mission is to empower individuals through advocacy, support services, and education. Summary As a Shelter Advocate at Family Advocates, Inc., you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals seeking refuge from abusive situations. This position is essential in helping clients navigate their options and access the resources they need for safety and recovery. Responsibilities Provide direct support to clients residing in the shelter, ensuring their immediate needs are met. Assist clients in developing personalized safety plans and accessing community resources. Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of client interactions and services provided. Facilitate support groups and workshops to promote healing and empowerment among residents. Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. Advocate for clients' rights within the legal system and connect them with legal resources as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field preferred. Experience in behavioral health or social work is highly desirable. Strong data collection skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Ability to manage challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism. Supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
