Job Description

Job Summary:
The ESMH Coordinator will lead the implementation of the WV Expanded School Mental Health framework at Oak Glenn Middle School. This role involves collaboration with school staff, families, and community partners to deliver a comprehensive, tiered system of mental health supports. The coordinator will ensure integration of universal prevention, early intervention, and intensive treatment services using evidence-based practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct needs assessments in collaboration with school liaisons and leadership teams. Develop and support a school-based leadership team. Coordinate and deliver training aligned with WVESMH standards. Implement and monitor evidence-based programs across all three tiers. Facilitate partnerships with local agencies, families, and school improvement councils. Support school-wide initiatives such as suicide prevention, anti-bullying, and substance use education. Provide or coordinate therapeutic services (individual, group, family). Track and report data for program evaluation and grant compliance. Create a trauma-informed, welcoming environment for students and families. Attend required trainings and meetings. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to fiscal and grant requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and experience of youth and adults with a mental health diagnosis Strong communication, curriculum implementation, and documentation skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Experience with collaborative program development Knowledge of community resources Ability to work under pressure and multitask Proficient and accurate documentation Ability to use Adobe and Microsoft software
Education and Experience:
Requires Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, education, or related human services field. Prefers 1-2 years of experience working with at-risk youth. Prefers experience with mental health and substance abuse prevention and intervention. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law
