Job Summary:
The Licensed Clinical Therapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The therapist will work within a multidisciplinary team to support patients with mental health needs, substance use challenges, and psychosocial stressors. This role emphasizes person-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care to improve health outcomes and quality of life for UHC patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals, groups, and families. Deliver culturally responsive interventions including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals as clinically indicated. Collaborate closely with primary care providers, case managers, and external partners to ensure continuity of care. Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) per UHC standards and payer requirements. Complete treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within required timelines. Follow all HIPAA, ethical, and regulatory guidelines. Team Collaboration & Outreach Participate in case reviews, care team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Support integration of behavioral health into primary care through warm hand-offs and same-day consults. Engage in outreach and health education initiatives to promote mental wellness in the community. Professional Growth Maintain active licensure and complete continuing education as required by state law. Stay current on clinical best practices, population health trends, and integrated care models. Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy. Current North Carolina license (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LCAS, or equivalent). Experience providing clinical services in an outpatient, integrated care, or community health setting. Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills. Commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and health equity Preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems and integrated care workflows. Experience working with underserved, rural, or at-risk population. Work Environment & Schedule Outpatient clinic setting with options for telehealth delivery when appropriate. Monday-Friday schedule with potential for evening hours to meet patient needs. Team-based environment with strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
