Work Environment This position offers the flexibility of a remote working environment while being anchored in the vibrant community of Bakersfield, California. As part of our detox center team, you will have the opportunity to interact with clients from diverse backgrounds, tailoring your support to their unique challenges and needs. The role may occasionally require evening and weekend hours for community outreach events, meetings, and therapy sessions, enabling you to engage fully with both clients and community partners. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth assessments to identify clients' individual social, emotional, and psychological needs, enabling the formulation of targeted intervention strategies. Provide high-quality individual and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, fostering an environment of healing and growth for clients. Develop and implement personalized service plans that align with clients' goals and objectives, ensuring measurable progress over time. Act as an advocate for clients' rights, helping them gain access to necessary resources and services while addressing social justice concerns. Engage in program development and evaluation efforts, contributing to grant reporting and highlighting the impact of our initiatives. Collaborate with various stakeholders—including community organizations, governmental entities, and volunteers—to coordinate services that best support our clients. Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach efforts to remain aligned with organizational objectives and client needs. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will work primarily with individuals engaged in detoxification programs, many of whom are facing significant life challenges, such as substance use disorders, mental health issues, and related social adversities. Your expertise will be critical in providing culturally competent care and support tailored to the diverse needs of our clients. Qualifications A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university, emphasizing therapeutic practices and clinical skills. Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required to practice in California. Strong understanding of social justice issues, advocacy strategies, and trauma-informed care practices. Excellent communication skills, paired with a genuine sense of empathy, support, and professionalism. Demonstrated organizational abilities, enabling effective management of caseloads and documentation while meeting compliance standards. Preferred Experience Prior experience working within a nonprofit organization or similar settings, particularly in mental health or substance use recovery. Knowledge of community resources and networks available in Kern County, California, to effectively link clients with needed services. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Motivational Interviewing. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between $75,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
