At our River Crossing Withdrawal Management facility, the Detox Therapist works with clients to identify issues related to drug and alcohol withdrawal symptoms. The Therapist should also be able to work with clients' families where necessary. A successful candidate for this role should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to show empathy while remaining professional. The Therapist identifies issues related to drug and alcohol withdrawal and assists with planning the best course of treatment for the client's needs. This position will be working Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. What you'll be doing: Plan, manage, and direct individual treatment of clients experiencing substance withdrawal symptoms. Provide consultation to individual(s) and group(s) regarding substance use disorders and mental health treatment. Provide psychosocial assessments and tailor treatment plans to best meet clients' needs. Effectively lead group sessions, cultivate strong communication, listening, and facilitation skills while also setting clear expectations and adapting to the group's dynamics. Provide crisis intervention and resolution services as needed. Provide clinical documentation that is accurate, timely, and in accordance with all regulatory and applicable standards. Learn, know, and follow established program policies and procedures. Exhibit a proper attitude and work ethic as established by Program Director and Center standards. Meet client treatment standards as defined by the Center. Responsible for completing all forms and paperwork required by the Center and state and federal laws. Work closely with the Treatment Team. Report any client or staff incidents or injuries to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner. Ensure clients comply with rules, maintain a clean and safe environment. Demonstrate good safety skills including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques. Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with clients and their families, supervisors, and co-workers. Attend meetings and trainings as required, and keep current on all trainings/certifications. Report to work on time as scheduled, remaining on shift until able to be relieved; correctly complete and submit timesheets and leave requests in a timely manner. Report any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance/housekeeping of the facility and equipment. Complete other duties as assigned. What we're looking for: Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field with an internship/practicum. Experience in withdrawal management and behavioral health highly preferred. Comfortable working in a time-sensitive, confidential environment where there are continual changes. Ability to relate warmly to clients and provide person-centered care. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, client families, referral sources, and co-workers. Proficient writing skills to properly document and communicate in a timely manner. Proficient knowledge of DSM V. Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment programs in Alabama. Experience preferred working with the seriously mentally ill. Effective planning skills to meet deadlines and work professionally. Knowledge of various clinical interventions to treat substance use disorders and mental illness.
