Job Description

MHMATTERS365
is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and child-centered Therapist to provide high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-21). In this role, you will help children navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges while working closely with parents, schools, and our PMHNP to ensure coordinated, holistic care. We are especially looking for a therapist who is passionate about working with kids, creative in their approach, and skilled at building trust with both children and families. Key Responsibilities Conduct child-focused intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to developmental level Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and parent guidance sessions Use child-appropriate, evidence-based approaches such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Play Therapy techniques Behavioral Therapy Trauma-Informed Care Treat common pediatric concerns, including: ADHD Anxiety & depression Behavioral challenges (ODD, defiance, school issues) Emotional regulation difficulties Trauma and adjustment disorders Support parents with behavioral strategies, routines, and communication tools Collaborate with schools (IEPs/504 plans) and other providers when appropriate Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when needed Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation (HIPAA compliant) Qualifications •Must have be licensed.• Licensed or license-eligible in Alabama Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist ) Experience working with children and adolescents required Experience with ADHD, behavioral issues, or trauma preferred Knowledge of child development and family systems Ideal Candidate Warm, engaging, and great with kids and parents Creative (able to use games, activities, and interactive techniques) Strong communication and relationship-building skills Organized with excellent documentation habits Passionate about improving youth mental health access in Alabama Why Join
