Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Mental Health Therapist to provide essential therapeutic services to residents in skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and related settings. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the well-being of individuals who often face complex emotional, psychological, and cognitive challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of the residents. Perform diagnostic assessments, including Alzheimer's screening, cognitive assessments, and psychological evaluations. Develop and implement behavior management interventions and strategies for managing pain. Support residents in adjusting to facility life and addressing grief, loss, or other emotional challenges. Collaborate with facility staff, families, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Provide training and education for facility staff on behavioral health strategies and care best practices. Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations, ensuring alternatives to psychotropic medications and restraints are prioritized.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy. Active Arkansas licensure as one of the following:
LMFT/LPC/LCSW
Strong understanding of the mental health needs of elderly and subacute populations. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings. Knowledge of dementia care and behavior management techniques. Willingness to travel up to 45 minutes.
