JOB TITLE
Youth & Family Support Specialist (Behavior Coach)
COMPANY:
Living and Balance Wellness Center
LOCATIONS
Phoenix, AZ |
Glendale, AZ PAY:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
TYPE:
Full-Time Some people are built for this work. Are you one of them? You're the person kids actually open up to. The one who shows up, tells the truth, and doesn't disappear when things get hard. If that's you, this was built for you. Who We Are Living and Balance Wellness Center is a behavioral health organization founded in 2021, serving individuals ages 6 to 99 and their families. We accept commercial insurance, Medicaid, and self-pay. Our offices are in Phoenix and Mesa, and we deliver services across the greater Phoenix metro area including Glendale and surrounding communities, provided in homes, schools, offices, and the community. We are a designated Center of Excellence for Transition-Age Youth. We are not a corporate machine. We are mission-driven and you will feel that from day one. What You'll Actually Do As a Youth & Family Support Specialist, you meet clients where they are, at school, at home, in the community, and help them build real skills for real life.
This role has real variety:
skills training, groups, case management, and family support all in one. Skills Training & Direct Support Provide skills training to youth and young adults ages 6-21, including transition-age youth Teach practical life skills: emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, social connection, and independent living Deliver services one-on-one and in group settings across schools, homes, offices, and community locations Reinforce goals the clinical team is working on. You are the bridge between sessions Group Facilitation Co-facilitate or lead structured skill-building groups for youth and families Support group programming in office and community settings Case Management & Care Coordination Assist clients and families with linking to community resources, services, and next steps Support care coordination alongside therapists and clinical staff Help families navigate systems, appointments, and follow-through Provide family support, partnering with caregivers on goals and skill-building at home Documentation & Team Communication Document all services accurately and on time in our EHR system Communicate regularly with your supervisor, therapists, and care team Build trust-based relationships while maintaining professional boundaries Show up. Consistently. That is how lives change.
About the schedule:
This is primarily an afternoon and weekend role, most services happen after school hours and on Saturdays and Sundays. Minimum 25 hours per week required. You build a consistent weekly schedule that works for you.
For example:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoons + Saturday and Sunday gets you there. Or Tuesday/Thursday afternoons and all weekend. We just need the same schedule each week. Clients count on it. Some daytime availability is helpful for office groups, morning school-based services, or in-home visits. This is a community-based, in-person role — and that is worth saying clearly. You will go to your clients. Into their homes, their schools, and their communities. Some visits will be warm and productive. Some will be quiet. Some will be in a living room where the TV is on and nobody seems interested at first. That is the work. It is real, it is human, and for the right person it is deeply rewarding. If you are looking for a remote or office-only role, this is not the right fit. If you want to do genuine, on-the-ground work with youth and families — we would love to meet you. Who This Is For We've hired a lot of people. The ones who thrive here have one thing in common: they genuinely care.
Beyond that:
Be at least 21 years old High school diploma or GED + 4 years relevant experience, OR Associate's degree + 2 years, OR Bachelor's degree + 1 year Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record Able to travel across Phoenix and Glendale service areas Pass a background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Bonus if you already have: Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Current CPR/First Aid certification Recent TB test (within 12 months) Experience in school-based or community behavioral health settings What We Offer $19-$23/hr, performance and leadership capacity determine where you land Benefits package: health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off and sick leave Professional development funding and training in evidence-based practices A team that has your back and a supervisor who actually removes barriers for you Real career growth, many of our clinical staff started in support roles How to Apply Make sure to upload your resume in your indeed application. Tell us a little about yourself and why this kind of work matters to you. A cover letter is welcome but not required.
