JOB TITLE
Mental Health Clinician
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Clinician provides high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals, couples, and families. The Clinician is responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing therapy services, and maintaining clinical documentation in compliance with professional and legal standards. Reports to Clinical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure:
Must meet one of the following requirements: Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC); or Licensed and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC); or Licensed and in good standing with the California Board of Psychology as a Licensed Psychologist.

Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
Experience:
Experience providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to children, youth, adults, and families. Associates must have completed required practicum experiences and be eligible to provide services under appropriate supervision.
Preferred:
Experience working with trauma-impacted children, youth, and families. Experience working with foster care, adoption, and child welfare populations. Familiarity with evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and strength-based approaches. Training in, certification in, or willingness to learn Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), adoption competency, and other attachment-based interventions. Experience providing services in community-based, school-based, or home-based settings. Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Other Requirements:
Must pass a Department of Justice/Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance. Valid unrestricted driver's license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to client confidentiality and ethical standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Clinical Services Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy services under licensed clinical supervision. Conduct intake assessments, risk assessments, and ongoing clinical evaluations. Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients. Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based approaches in treatment. Provide crisis intervention support and safety planning as needed. Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical records in compliance with agency, legal, and ethical standards. Complete progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and discharge summaries within required timelines. Participate in regular supervision meetings and maintain required documentation for BBS hours. Team Collaboration & Professional Development Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and trainings to support professional growth. Collaborate with clinical supervisors, administrative staff, and community partners to support coordinated client care. Engage in ongoing professional development and training aligned with best practices in trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions.

WORK SCHEDULE & PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS
This position offers flexible scheduling within business needs. Clinicians are expected to maintain a minimum average of 20 billable client hours per week across the calendar year. To support consistency in meeting this expectation, clinicians should anticipate scheduling approximately 22-24 client sessions per week, accounting for cancellations, no-shows, and scheduling fluctuations, if they plan to only meet minimum productivity requirements. In addition to billable hours, clinicians are expected to complete non-billable responsibilities, including documentation, treatment planning, administrative tasks, and meetings. Participation in weekly supervision (individual and group, totaling approximately 3 hours per week) is required in accordance with BBS standards and agency policy for associates. Schedules must align with program and client needs, including maintaining availability for in-person sessions during designated clinic hours. Telehealth may be utilized as an option but may not limit the ability to meet business needs.
COMPENSATION
$25.00/hour base pay for all hours worked Plus productivity incentives based on completed client services Total compensation potential: approximately $70,000
