Job Description
Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting their social-emotional growth across multiple school settings. This contract opportunity is ideal for dedicated counselors experienced in Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) and ready to serve districtwide itinerant caseloads. Starting August 11, 2026 and running through June 2, 2027, this full-time, on-site role provides vital mental health support from Early Childhood through Transition grades within the greater Daly City and San Francisco region.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
Active California licensure as LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW (current registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences required) Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related discipline Minimum 3,000 hours of supervised work experience (with proper registration as AMFT, APCC, or ASW if still accruing hours) Successful completion of California Law and Ethics exam, plus clinical licensing exams as needed Strong understanding of EC-Transition caseload needs within school settings Must pass Live Scan fingerprint background checkKey Role Responsibilities:
Deliver ERMHS to students, including direct therapy, behavioral interventions, and family collaboration Coordinate services with special education teams, teachers, and related support staff districtwide Travel between multiple campus locations as needed to provide comprehensive, equitable care Accurately maintain confidential documentation in compliance with district and state mandates Proactively participate in professional training and supervision, supporting best practices in student mental health This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative academic environment serving a diverse student population.
