Addiction Counselor

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in addiction counseling and mental health, with the ability to provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. The Addiction Counselor will work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to promote recovery and improve overall well-being. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery, coping strategies, and behavioral change. Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute situations. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including patient records, intake forms, and treatment notes. Teach clients coping mechanisms Provide education on addiction, behavioral health, and recovery resources for clients and their families. Qualifications Experience working in the substance abuse field is preferred. Valid Certification -CAADE, CCAPP, CADTP or higher Experience in crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapy is essential. Familiarity with clinical documentation practices, and HIPAA compliance is necessary. Must have working knowledge of a 12-step or SMART program. Must adhere to Drug-Free Policy. (If in recovery must have at least 24months clean time.) Must have good boundaries. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
