Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive counseling and therapeutic support to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth within a supportive and professional environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or trauma-related issues such as PTSD or grief. Implement behavior management strategies and behavior therapy techniques to assist clients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations; utilize
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for diagnostic evaluation and billing purposes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and educators to coordinate patient care effectively. Engage in research activities related to clinical counseling practices or behavioral health interventions to enhance service quality. Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to medical terminology standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; master's degree preferred. Valid licensure or certification in counseling or psychotherapy (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW) is highly desirable. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings; clinic experience preferred. Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and addiction counseling. Experience with crisis intervention, crisis management, and trauma-informed care including PTSD care. Familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation accuracy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively across diverse populations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining secure medical records is essential. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders; experience in special education or pediatrics is a plus. Telehealth experience is preferred; comfort using digital platforms for remote patient care is essential.
