JOB SUMMARY
HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization and a family of programs, is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to tackle systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity for all. We offer a wide range of services, including mental health care, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and primary health services. Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement in the criminal justice system. By integrating physical and behavioral health, we empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. Prototypes is one of the nation's leading behavioral healthcare providers and is a "prototype" for such organizations. Prototypes Women's Center in Pomona is a 180-bed residential facility tailored specifically to women, including those who wish to involve their children in their journey to recovery. Our program aims to assist women in maintaining their progress in overcoming co-occurring disorders through a wide range of supportive services. Children can foster a secure attachment with their mothers in a secure setting, while also accessing mental health support and educational assistance. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides comprehensive treatment for substance use disorders and mental health, parenting, educational, and life skills courses. Treatment can range from 60 days to 6 months. The Group Counselor I plays a vital role within a multidisciplinary team, aiding clients by evaluating their requirements and capabilities to promote their well-being and rehabilitation. They conduct counseling sessions predominantly in group settings and occasionally one-on-one, lead educational activities, adhere to program guidelines when delivering content, handle case management duties, and help clients access care systems, all within a nurturing treatment atmosphere.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Service Facilitate education and group counseling sessions in residential, outpatient, or field depending on assignment and agency need. Provide care coordination or case management as needed. Occasionally facilitate individual counseling sessions as assigned. Provide orientation to group treatment culture and norms. Utilize trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices. Transport clients when assigned. Assist clients in navigating systems of care. Complete planned and unplanned urinalysis test with clients. Treatment Setting Work collaboratively with treatment team members. Seek consultation and supervision for challenging clinical circumstances. Provide a supportive treatment environment. Ensure groups start and finish on time. Ensure that clients maintain compliance with group attendance and expectations. Documentation Track client progress in group sessions. Document UA test results. Write and complete progress notes in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with clinical documentation standards and policies. Complete same day incident reports. Administration and Other Duties Maintain compliance with client care hours per week. Arrange work schedule according to program needs. Respond to emails when appropriate. Participate in meetings, supervision, and training opportunities. Complete assigned training in a timely manner. Maintain registration compliance. And perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certification, or Licensure High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred. Registration as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP). Valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Valid California Driver's License and access to registered and insured transportation. Experience Experience providing counseling sessions with individuals with co-occurring disorders. Group counseling experience highly preferred We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Must complete a background check and livescan.
