Clinic experience Working with children Health information management Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive clinical counseling and psychotherapy services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will support individuals with developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, and other mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis, and crisis intervention. Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, educators, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with complex needs. Collect data for clinical research projects related to behavioral health, mental health counseling, or specific populations such as autism or geriatrics. Stay current with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and other relevant documentation requirements to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Skills Extensive experience in psychotherapy across diverse settings including hospitals, community clinics, or home-based care. Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and facilitate behavior change. Strong background in child & family counseling, working with children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles for working with individuals with autism or disabilities. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient documentation and data collection. Experience in clinical research related to mental health or behavioral interventions is a plus. Ability to manage complex cases involving PTSD care, addiction counseling, or geriatrics including Alzheimer's care. Understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical records management. Excellent skills in intake procedures, diagnostic evaluation, case management, and crisis intervention strategies. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals of all ages who may have behavioral health or social work needs.
