Job Description

Mental Health Clinician Why Join Us? Make a real impact in your community by working directly alongside law enforcement to support individuals experiencing mental health crises. This role offers meaningful fieldwork, collaboration, and the opportunity to deliver compassionate, immediate care where it's needed most. Position Overview Provide behavioral health services including crisis intervention, risk assessment, referrals, and follow-up support. Clinicians work in the field with Boca Raton Police officers and serve as a vital link between public safety and mental health resources. Boca Raton Police Department | Boca Raton, FL Full-Time | On-Call Rotation Pay $37.71 - $40.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Benefits Snapshot (City of Boca Raton) 100% City-paid medical (base plan), dental, and vision for employee 15 paid holidays per year (including floating holidays) Generous PTO & Sick Leave Annual leave accrual up to 360 hours Sick leave paid out annually over cap and up to 50% at retirement Retirement Options Defined Contribution Plan (7% City contribution, no employee contribution, 1-year vesting) Defined Benefit Pension Plan (10-year vesting) Optional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan Tuition Reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and dependents Military, funeral, and other paid leave options Annual longevity/continuous service payments Key Responsibilities Respond with law enforcement to mental health-related calls Conduct risk and safety assessments Provide crisis intervention and referrals for treatment Support individuals and families during high-stress situations Act as a community liaison and assist with trainings Maintain assigned caseload and documentation Required Qualifications (Must attach license to apply) One of the following State of Florida licenses is required: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Education Master's degree in mental health counseling, psychology, social work, or related field Additional Requirements Valid Florida Class "E" Driver's License (≤6 points last 3 years) Ability to participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation Successful completion of extensive background screening, including psychological exam, polygraph, and drug/alcohol screening Equal Opportunity Employer The City of Boca Raton is an Equal Opportunity, Inclusive, Veteran's Preference Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
