Program Therapist — Women's Mental Health Residential & PHP The Wave of Clearwater | Clearwater, FL Full-Time | On-Site About The Wave of Clearwater The Wave of Clearwater is an AHCA-licensed, women-only residential and partial hospitalization (PHP) mental health facility in Clearwater, FL. We provide trauma-informed, gender-responsive care in a warm, home-like environment where women can heal, rebuild, and reconnect with themselves. As part of The Wave International — a multi-site behavioral health organization — we are committed to clinical excellence, ethical practice, and a team culture that values every role. Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Program Therapist to join our clinical team. In this full-time role, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult women presenting with primary mental health diagnoses, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring conditions. You will work closely with our Clinical Director, medical team, and case management staff to deliver evidence-based, individualized treatment within a supportive, multidisciplinary setting. What You'll Do Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions in accordance with each client's individualized treatment plan Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations for women in residential and PHP levels of care Develop, implement, and regularly update person-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Facilitate structured therapy groups using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapies, and motivational interviewing Document clinical services thoroughly and timely in the Alleva EMR, in accordance with AHCA, Joint Commission, and 65E-4.016 standards Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, case management, and recovery support staff to coordinate comprehensive client care Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, and utilization reviews Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination to promote long-term recovery Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal regulations Uphold the principles of trauma-informed care and gender-responsive treatment in every client interaction
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field Active Florida licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or registered intern (RCSWI, RMHCI, RMFTI) under qualified supervision Experience providing individual and group therapy in a behavioral health setting Working knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused approaches) Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Ability to pass AHCA Level II background screening
Preferred:
