Companion/Personal Support & Respite Provider Careheart Health Services Palm Bay, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $15 - $17 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Spanish CPR Certification Hospice experience BLS Certification English Driver's License First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate Companion/Personal Support & Respite Provider to enhance the quality of life for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will offer companionship, support with activities of daily living (ADLs), and respite services to families and individuals across various care settings. Your dedication will help promote independence, safety, and well-being, ensuring clients feel valued, supported, and engaged. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness or injury. Responsibilities Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and engaging environment. Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Support clients with medication reminders and monitor vital signs as needed, adhering to care plans and HIPAA privacy standards. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary. Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment. Observe and document client conditions, behaviors, and progress while reporting any concerns promptly to supervisors or healthcare professionals. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance. Experience Prior experience in home health care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with care for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. Hands-on experience with personal care tasks such as assisting with ADLs and providing memory or hospice care is advantageous. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or willing to obtain; additional certifications in HIPAA compliance or nursing assistance are a plus. Experience working within care plans and coordinating with social workers or healthcare teams is beneficial.
