Job Description

Family Education Clinician This position serves as a family clinician teaching families about psychosis and its treatment. Reducing relapses by encouraging medication adherence and monitoring early warning signs of relapse. Supporting the participant's work towards personal recovery goals. Reducing family stress through improved communication and problem-solving skills. The family clinician helps to reduce family burden and helps the family build on their strengths to create and maintain an environment to support the participant's recovery. To meet these objectives, the family clinician must help the families cultivate the necessary knowledge base, attitudes, and skills to cope with. effectively with the situation and support the participant's progress; this is the work of the family services component of the
NAVIGATE
program. Experience with computer technology (using a computer & PC software to support activities; Windows based programs, e-mail, especially Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding skills, printer, calculator, fax machine, MFP, copier) and other office tools efficiently in order to meet performance goals necessary to the position. Minimum Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field. Preference of two (2) years of post-graduate practice, heavily concentrated in mental health field, work experience working with both young adults and adults with mental illnesses or with similar human-services needs desired.
