Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and ensure accurate medical documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EMR). Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, progress monitoring, and follow-up assessments to optimize treatment outcomes. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions while maintaining HIPAA compliance and clinical ethical guidelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, and support staff—to deliver holistic care for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding procedures, and clinical research to enhance therapeutic effectiveness. Requirements Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC or equivalent) with state-specific certification. Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, or psychodynamic therapy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or geriatrics. Strong skills in crisis management, behavior management, patient assessment, and clinical documentation standards. Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or chronic pain conditions is highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth technology platforms and experience providing remote mental health services while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
