Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our mental health services team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical counseling, with expertise in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and working with diverse populations including children, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those experiencing co-occurring disorders. As an LPC, you will provide comprehensive mental health support through individual, group, and family therapy modalities, ensuring adherence to clinical ethical guidelines and documentation standards. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives while working within a collaborative and supportive environment that values evidence-based practices and innovative treatment approaches. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate. Deliver specialized interventions including crisis management, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and behavior management strategies tailored to client needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for clients with complex conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or co-occurring mental health and medical issues. Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards while ensuring timely updates of medical records. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to extend services remotely while adhering to telehealth therapy best practices. Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection efforts to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential with demonstrated competence in clinical counseling. Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices for mental health counseling. Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays is highly desirable. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols in inpatient or outpatient settings. Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and electronic health records management. Telehealth experience is preferred; candidates should be comfortable delivering remote patient care using secure platforms. Additional skills such as addiction counseling, grief support, social work principles, psychopharmacology knowledge, or special education background are advantageous.
