This dynamic position offers the opportunity to engage in direct patient support, conduct thorough assessments, and deliver evidence-based therapies across diverse settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth platforms. Your expertise will help empower clients to achieve mental wellness, resilience, and improved quality of life through personalized treatment plans and supportive counseling. Responsibilities Conduct detailed clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute psychiatric episodes or behavioral emergencies with professionalism and sensitivity. Facilitate specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Maintain meticulous medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring accurate medical terminology usage. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans to support patient care continuity across inpatient, outpatient, or telehealth settings. Engage in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to enhance treatment outcomes and contribute to evidence-based practices within behavioral health. Experience Proven experience in mental health counseling within outpatient or inpatient environments; hospital experience is highly valued. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, psychopharmacology knowledge, and crisis management skills. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and medical record documentation. Experience working with diverse populations such as children & families, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring special education or behavioral therapy interventions. Telehealth experience is preferred for delivering remote patient care effectively while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Strong background in social work principles, patient assessment procedures, behavior management strategies, and case management practices. Ability to handle sensitive situations involving grief, chronic pain management, or trauma-related issues like PTSD with empathy and professionalism.
