Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer/Youth Support Specialist to empower individuals navigating behavioral health challenges. In this vital role, you will serve as a relatable guide and advocate, providing peer support, mentorship, and crisis intervention to foster resilience and promote mental well-being. This opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills in behavioral health and social services. Duties Provide empathetic peer support and mentorship to adults and youth experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges Assist clients in developing coping strategies through motivational interviewing and behavioral health techniques Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and document interactions using electronic health record (EHR) systems Support clients in connecting with community resources, addiction counseling, and social services as needed Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with organizational policies Requirements Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with adults and youth from diverse backgrounds Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion Please do not submit resume unless you have attended the Peer Supports training and have the certificate issued through the State of Idaho.
