Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic behavioral health team as an Intensive Outpatient Counselor, where you'll play a vital role in guiding individuals through their recovery journeys. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver comprehensive mental health and addiction counseling within an outpatient setting. You will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate group and individual therapy sessions, and coordinate care that promotes lasting wellness. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine treatment needs Lead individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral management techniques Implement motivational interviewing strategies to motivate clients toward positive change Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety and stability Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, review, and update personalized care plans Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards Engage in case management activities, including intake procedures, treatment planning, and discharge planning Maintain compliance with ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) for diagnostic documentation and data collection for research purposes Offer specialized counseling for PTSD care, addiction medicine, child & family counseling, and behavioral health issues Participate in ongoing training related to medical documentation, CPT coding, and behavioral health best practices Evening availability required, though schedule can be fairly flexible Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling within outpatient or hospital settings Strong knowledge of motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and crisis management techniques Expertise in child & family counseling, group therapy facilitation, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) methods Familiarity with medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology Ability to perform patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) Skilled in case management practices including intake procedures and treatment coordination Excellent communication skills for engaging patients of diverse backgrounds in individual or group settings Knowledge of behavioral therapy approaches such as CPT coding and behavior management strategies Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care that transforms lives.
